JUICY IN LIVERPOOL EVERY THURSDAY
Our wordlwide invasion has started. First Manchester, then Liverpool, next we move on the White House and then Mars. We are taking our weekly ruckus to the ‘Pool or L-town as I’m sure no one calls it. Every Thursday we’ll be bringing you good times and hood rhymes at The Magnet (Hardman Street) for only £2 entry before midnight. Drinks are also suitably cheap as always: £1 shots / £1.50 bottles / £2 jagerbombs / £2.50 double house spirit & mixers.
If you’ve got friends over there who are fond of party and not fond of bullshit, tell them to like the Juicy Liverpool facebook page here for updates, events, photos and mixes etc. If you’ve never been to Juicy and want to know what we’re all about, you can check the mix below and the photos on our facebook page to see how we get down.

JUICE CREW LIVE IN LONDON
Holy Shit. Christmas, Hannukah, Ramadan and Diwali have pretty much all come at once this year for old school hip hop fans. Several members of one of the most legendary crews of all time, the Juice Crew, are performing toghether in the UK for the first time in decades. Pretty much all legends in their own right anyway, it will be worth the ticket price alone just to see the one and only Biz Markie. A shame they couldn’t get foudner Marley Marl and Kool G Rap as well, but you can’t have everything…

JUICY JANUARY SALE

If you weren’t at our January Sale on Friday, you missed a classic. People still queing up to get in at 2.30, Rich Reason holding it down in the bar and full on stage invasions. All photos by Dom Varden, check the rest on our facebook page. Next special at the Deaf Institute is on Friday Feb 10th.
SOULS OF MISCHIEF & JEDI MIND TRICKS LIVE

Two great live hip hop shows coming up in Manchester very soon. Taste The Diff’rence are bringing Cali’s Souls Of Mischief to the Roadhouse on the 7th February, and you can cop a ticket here. Vinnie Paz and his crew hit the Academy the week after on the 15th, and you can grab tickets here.

J-DILLA CHANGED MY LIFE – FEB 3
After last year’s incredible party, we’re teaming up with The Doctor’s Orders once again to celebrate the life and music of a true hip hop genius – James “J-Dilla” Yancey. On Friday February 3rd, we will be taking over the Ruby Lounge from 9pm for a whole night dedicated to Jay Dee. As well as being hosted by one of his close friends and collaborators, Detroit’s Phat Kat, we will also be honoured by Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, Dilla’s mother. Local legend Mr Scruff will be returning to spin a Dilla breaks set, and DJs on the night include us, Spin Doctor, Jonny Dub and Illum Sphere, DJ A-UP, Agent J and Mr E. The DJs are playing for free, and all proceeds are going to the J Dilla Foundation and Lupus UK. There will be exclusive T Shirts on sale on the night, again with all proceeds to the two charities. Tickets are onsale now here at ticketweb, and they will soon also be available in Piccadilly Records and Gaffs. The mininum donation is £6, but please feel free to give more for these worthy causes, especially if you’ve enjoyed Dilla’s legendary body of work.
Please note that last year the demand for tickets was insane, and the event sold out way in advance. If you want to come, PLEASE get your ticket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

PHLO FINISTER
I don’t know much about easy on the eye Californian songstress Phlo Sinister, but judging by her first few tracks we’ll be hearing a lot more about her in 2012. Here’s her Aaliyah homage (or shameless rip off depending on your opinion) Shades, complete with Timbo-esque production and ad libs.
You can listen or download her Crown Gold EP for free below, including covers of The Doors’ Riders On The Storm over Dr Dre’s Xxplosive beat and Nancy Sinatra’s Bang Bang over the classic Shook Ones Pt. 2 beat (which has already had the likes of Stevie Wonder jump on…)

THE ROOTS – UNDUN
Everyone’s favourite live hip hop group, Philly’s The Roots have returned with a late contender for album of the year. Undun is one of their best to date, featuring guests such as Phonte, Big K.R.I.T, Bilal and former Juicy guest Just Blaze. A concept album based around the fictional character Redford Stephens, the LP is accompanied by this short film, directed by Clifton Bell.
SPANK ROCK LIVE IN MANCHESTER ON DEC 6
Spank Rock is touching down for a rare live performance in Manchester in a couple of days, definitely not a show to miss if you’re into turbo charged, bass driven club rap. Think 2 Live Crew jamming with DJ Funk or the Cool Kids after 28 turbo shandies. He’s worked with the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Diplo, Boys Noize, Santigold, Pharell and Mark Ronson to name just a few, and his chaotic live shows are the stuff of legend. Tickets are just a tenner and are available from all the usual outlets like Piccadilly Records as well as online here. Facebook event with more details here.

JUICY NEW YEAR’S EVE
2011 has been good to us. We partied like Rick James in Vegas for a straight 12 months, met some of our musical heroes and threw sold out parties week in week out. We had one of the founding fathers of hip hop, Grandmaster Flash play our birthday. We bought Raekwon, Just Blaze, Alchemist and Saigon to Manchester for incredible shows. We raised thousands of pounds for the J Dilla Foundation with a night dedicated to him, featuring the likes of Mr Thing and Mr Scruff. We played to thousands of people at Parklife and Kendal Calling festivals. We partied with Jay Electronica and Naughty By Nature. We met MF DOOM without his mask on. We made Beyonce pregnant. Ok, ok maybe not that last one.
What better way to end the year on a massive high than to throw our own New Year’s Eve party… We’ll be taking over the Ruby Lounge in town on NYE for six hours of straight Juice, freshly squeezed. Tickets are £10 and available on Skiddle here or from Piccadilly Records in town or Gaffs in Fallowfield. There are only 500 tickets available and they are already selling like hot crack cakes so don’t hesitate. Massive thanks to all of you who’ve been coming to our parties, downloading our mixes and reading the site etc.
